Master's thesis: Battery-Slurrys (m/f/d)

Investigation of the influence of different manufacturing parameters on the properties of battery slurries for the development of high-performance batteries

Location Flintbek

Do you want to play a decisive role in driving forward the energy transition? Do you attach great importance to quality and want to use modern machinery and equipment? Are you interested in the battery industry and would like to support UniverCell’s growth? If so, we are looking for you to join our motivated production team in Flintbek! In this master's thesis, the influence of different process parameters on the properties of battery slurries, e.g. viscosity, solids content, will be investigated. The optimized slurries will also be processed into battery electrodes and characterized with regard to their electrochemical properties. The aim is to gain a better understanding of the relationships between the production of the slurries and the performance of the electrodes produced from them in energy storage applications.

UniverCell produces electrodes and cells based on lithium-ion technology for batteries in Germany. With everything we do, we make sustainable energy usable and develop highest-quality energy storage systems with innovative technology and maximum performance. Our products are used in aerospace, medical products and other areas where the highest quality and performance are required.

Your responsibilities

  • Planning and conducting experiments for the production and characterization of battery slurries
  • Investigating the properties, e.g. viscosity and solid content of the slurries as a function of the production parameters
  • Analyzing the electrochemical properties of the resulting electrodes
  • Evaluation of the results and derivation of optimization potentials for the production of electrode materials
