UniverCell develops and produces electrodes and lithium-ion cells in Germany and operates one of the largest operational electrode and cell production facilities in Europe for innovative premium applications. Our products are used in aerospace, medical products and other areas where the highest quality and performance are required.





Your task
- Leading the laboratory team professionally and disciplinarily
- Establishment of a time schedule for laboratory activities (prioritization between different projects considering current capacities)
- Evaluation of lab results with respect to improvement opportunities, project goals and processability on the pilot plant
- Provision and preparation of lab results for customers
- Commissioning and maintaining laboratory equipment such as rheometer, glovebox, coin cell equipment, particle size analyser, and etc.
- Utilizing project management software to organize and summarize data and communicate the findings efficiently to other stakeholders
- Independent research on formulations and processes in the areas of mixing, coating, compaction and cell construction
- Evaluation of new material suppliers and support technical discussion with new/existing material suppliers
- Support with the production team by scaling up the R&D process to pilot-scale
- Support sales/project management in technical discussions with customers as well as in the conceptual design of new development projects within the laboratory scale
- Execution of public funding projects, customer projects and development tasks
Your skills
- Native-level proficiency in German and professional or above level proficiency in English are required
- Degree in natural sciences (e.g. materials science, chemistry, physics) desirable - Master's degree or doctorate in natural sciences
- Prior experience in managing technical and multi-member projects in academic or industry environment
- Having an independent and rigorous approach in solving complex technical problem
- You enjoy entrepreneurial thinking and have outstanding organizational skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Prior professional experience in the field of lithium-ion batteries is preferred but not required
