The brighter an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panel shines, the more energy must flow through the individual subpixels. This also applies the other way around: Dark colors require significantly less energy in practice and depending on the display model.

PEM Motion is an engineering, consulting, and training service provider focusing on batteries and e-motors as well as on the industrialization of mobility products. PEM Motion is shaping the mobility of tomorrow, today. The company was founded in 2014 as a spin-off of the chair for “Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components” (PEM) at the RWTH Aachen University by Prof. Achim Kampker and Dr. Christoph Deutskens. PEM Motion has established offices across Europe and North America in four locations and two joint ventures with more than 70 employees globally. As a consulting, training and engineering service provider, PEM Motion accompanies clients from the first concept through series production. PEM Motion has worked with various clients including automotive manufacturers, non-profits, suppliers, and start-ups across the world to realize future mobility solutions. Over many years, they built a wide network of innovation partners centered around their university partners in Aachen, Sacramento, Monterrey and Windsor. This network allows to easily pull in highly skilled technical experts from a variety of fields and subject areas to solve any problem for clients. The ties to the universities allow PEM Motion to support projects that require both theoretical and practical knowledge of cutting-edge technologies. As PEM Motion grows across the globe from Aachen, they carry with a pioneering spirit of constant innovation. IKA is a global leader in innovative process and laboratory technology, with strong expertise in powder handling, mixing, and kneading processes as well as the scaling of industrial applications. In a strategic partnership with UniverCell, IKA is contributing to the development and industrialization of a continuous dry coating technology for battery electrodes. The goal is to replace conventional wet coating processes with a more sustainable, cost-efficient, and scalable dry battery technology. A key element of this collaboration is IKA’s continuous kneading technology CONTERNA, which enables efficient and scalable processing of dry electrode materials. Combined with UniverCell’s proprietary coating technology, this results in an integrated manufacturing approach for high-performance battery electrodes. The collaboration includes joint development, validation, piloting, and scaling toward large-scale series production. Together, both partners aim to accelerate the industrial adoption of dry coating technology and strengthen the European battery manufacturing ecosystem. By combining IKA’s process expertise with UniverCell’s capabilities in electrode and cell production, this partnership represents a significant step toward next-generation battery manufacturing.
