In this role, you take responsibility for a laboratory team and actively contribute your ideas to the development of new materials and processes. You will work closely with different departments and customers, helping to shape the innovations of tomorrow.
This position is a parental leave replacement and initially limited until the end of 2027. However, we offer long-term development opportunities within the company beyond this assignment.
UniverCell develops and produces electrodes and lithium-ion cells in Germany and operates one of the largest operational electrode and cell production facilities in Europe for innovative premium applications. We strive to make sustainable energy usable and seek to develop highest-quality energy storage systems with innovative technology and maximum performance. Your Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the laboratory team, both technically and disciplinarily
- Plan and prioritize laboratory activities across multiple projects
- Analyze, evaluate, and prepare laboratory results for internal and external stakeholders
- Independently drive research and development of formulations and processes (mixing, coating, densification, cell assembly)
- Manage and execute customer, development, and publicly funded projects, including proposal writing
- Act as a key technical interface between sales, project management, and production, and contribute to the advancement of lab and pilot processes
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in chemistry, materials science, physics, or a comparable field; PhD preferred
- Several years of professional experience in research & development, ideally in an industrial environment
- Proven experience in team leadership and managing complex projects
- Strong expertise in material and process development, ideally in battery technology
- Analytical mindset with the ability to clearly communicate complex results
- Strong communication skills and experience working with customers and cross-functional teams
